The time is now to involve yourself beyond what is needed for

The time is now to involve yourself beyond what is needed for your individual
child and think of the bigger picture. While the issues may not seem to directly
impact our children in the younger grades, the serious impact these revisions
will have when your children reach secondary school are monumental. Students
with special needs are already fighting an up hill battle just to maintain, they
are expected to reach the federal mandated proficiency of any other student
without a learning disability. Our students are struggling to be successful at
their capable learning level and are being set up for a fall, for the
expectations are unrealistic and in most cases leave the student feeling like a
failure. New Jersey must continue to serve our children with the strongest
protect for them, not for the powers that be. If the scale must tip, it must tip
to the children or the written words will not be worth the ink it is written
with.
