Acting Governor Codey's First Response to IDEIA 2004 Petition Effort - Indifference!

The following is the letter that Acting Governor Richard Codey provided in response to the letter that we hand delivered to Secretary of State Regena Thomas when she spoke at our APIECE event in Plainfield on Saturday, May 21.

See: http://studentadvocate-nj.org/RThomas_Letter_May21_2005.htm

The letter from the Acting Governor is obviously a template response which suggests that serious consideration was not provided to the information from our letter.  The Acting Governor did figure out that our letter was on the topic of education, thus his reference to DOE Commissioner Librera.  However, he did not acknowledge that the letter addressed the issue of IDEIA 2004 nor even special education, nor the other issue we raised, the Amistad Act.  The subtext of the message is that Acting Governor Codey is at this point at best indifferent to our concerns about IDEIA 2004.  The solution?  He needs a thousand letters from every neighborhood in NJ, as does Senator Corzine and candidate Forrester - and our Assembly and NJ Senate representatives and candidates.
